Skin checks save lives.

My Style of Practice
How I choose to provide services
The skin is the largest organ in the body.
It allows us to regulate our internal environment, and protects us from external harm. Its health is vital for our own ongoing health.
The primary aim of skin checks is to identify skin cancers and potentially risky skin lesions.
I believe skin checks also offer the opportunity to discuss general skin care and manage low grade skin conditions.
I also believe in primary and secondary prevention of skin cancers with the use of different topical options, not just to prevent further damage but also reverse pre-existing sun damage. Also utilizing methods which minimize scarring and localized pigment changes to skin.

As someone who has grown up in a world of rapid technological advancement I also like to incorporate the latest technology into my practice.
I use the Molemax system for recording digital images of lesions for ongoing monitoring which can reduce the number of biopsies and also result in some instances in earlier diagnosis of skin cancers.
I am involved in beta-testing of some products and software for Molemax. This means I send regular feed back to the company on the performance of their software. I look for errors in the software and advise the company on how to improve the performance of their hardware and software. I will periodically have access to software and hardware prior to it being available to other doctors. At the point where I'm testing this equipment it is safe for use, there may occasionally be delays due to technical issues with the equipment, however, there will be no compromise to your care. I'm actually very excited about some equipment that the company is currently developing.

I also have a portable ultrasound and have developed skills in its use for the removal of foreign bodies and deep contraceptive implants.

Currently I don't have a long term position working in General GP. Periodically I may take on short term locums in general practices, but I currently have none scheduled.
I am in the process of setting up my own skin cancer clinic in the inner south-western suburbs of Adelaide.

Beyond my work in medicine I also enjoy embroidery.
I have done a number of embroideries which have won prizes in the Royal Adelaide show.
